Good thing we’re stopping Assad from hurting civilians.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has issued a report today covering the civilian death toll of US-led coalition airstrikes in Syria over the past month, from May 23 to June 23, reporting at least 472 civilians, the largest in any 30-day period since the US started bombing Syria in 2014.
How quickly we forget that Kaine’s running mate, Hillary Clinton, called for “safe zones” and “no fly zones.” How did he think those would be enforced? Pixie dust?
Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., on Wednesday sharply condemned U.S. strikes on Syrian regime forces — like the shoot-down of a military jet over the weekend — as “completely illegal.”“I think the military action that is being taken against Syrian government assets is completely illegal,” Kaine said in an interview with Yahoo News on Sirius XM’s politics channel, POTUS.
And the best part? It doesn’t apply if you’re being a whore, er, seeking funding.
This of course makes me wonder: what happens if someone from a country who hates LGBT people comes to California? Isn’t that what Trump was kinda doing (indirectly?)
California has issued a ban on state-funded and state-sponsored travel to four more states that it says have laws discriminating against LGBTQ people. The travel ban was first put into effect January 1 when state measure AB 1887 became law. The law says California is “a leader in protecting civil rights and preventing discrimination” and should not support or finance “discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.”
The travel ban list also includes states that California believes don’t protect religious freedoms and states that it says use religious freedom as a basis of discrimination.

President Rodrigo Duterte has made another rape joke and got slammed for it by women’s rights defenders and the daughter of former US President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.“Not funny. Ever,” Chelsea Clinton first said on Twitter on Friday, responding to a tweet about Mr. Duterte’s joke by The New York Times’ chief White House correspondent Peter Baker.
Her outrage rings hollow, though, as her mother famously laughed about getting off a child rapist including chuckling about getting him a lenient sentence, knowing he lied and watching him pass a polygraph, and so on. Even Snopes, who will never not take a moment to tell you how your criticism of Hillary is wrong, says that’s the case.
